Individuals who have lost a significant amount of weight are often candidates for a lower body lift. This procedure is most commonly performed after weight loss from LAP-BAND® Adjustable Gastric Banding, Gastric Bypass surgery, or Gastric Sleeve surgery. People considering this type of procedure commonly complain of very droopy or hanging skin in the abdomen, gluteal and thigh areas. There are a number of variations of these types of lifts, and the technique utilized depends on where the laxity manifests most. The lower body lift may also be referred to as belt dermolipectomy or circumferential dermolipectomy.
